On January 3, 2023 at 5 pm, Petra Večeřová, the head of the Biographical Archive Section of the CLB, will give a lecture on the everyday life of Prague printers of the Rudolfinum period, which will close the winter cycle of the Staročeský dýchánek.
You will find out what Prague printers were like as people, what their everyday life was like, where they lived, what they printed, how they sold their books and what their price was, or who their customers, patrons and wives were, or what their personal and working relationships were. Many of them pushed book culture to points from which we still benefit today.
