Last semester, we had the opportunity to pass on our experience to university students in two ways.
During a semester-long course, we taught students of the Master’s degree programme Editorial and Publishing Practice at the Faculty of Arts, Palacký University, how to apply quantitative research methods in literary science. In addition to creating bibliographic records, the students also learned the basics of working with bibliographic data using the Python programming language.
We directly involved future Czech studies scholars from the Faculty of Arts in Brno in the daily operation of our research infrastructure as part of their internship. Under the guidance of colleagues from the contemporary and retrospective bibliography sections, the interns tried excerpting data from the Moravská orlice from 1901 and the post-revolutionary edition of the literary journal Host.
Organizing lectures and seminars for interested students from universities, library organizations and other memory institutions is another regular activity of the CLB. More information about this service can be found under the following link.
