Launch of a new version of the search engine for the CLB database

In May, a new version of VuFind, a tool for searching the databases of the Czech Literary Bibliography, was launched.

Users can now use the search engine to work with databases created by the latest bibliographic projects, while taking advantage of new functionalities and improvements.

New databases:

• – Almanacs, calendars and yearbooks 1801-1945 [about the project]
• – Database of Czech Literary Exile [about the project]
• – Consortium of Czech literary studies
• – Database of translations of Czech literature

Overview of new functionalities:

• – updated export module
• – the ability to save, sort and share research via My Account
• – link to full texts in the Kramerius digital library
• – linking of retrospective bibliography data, including the possibility of full-text searches in ticket transcripts and structured RETROBI data and display of corresponding tickets directly in the VuFind search interface
• – upgraded Help section
• – feedback forms (ability to send any error messages directly from the individual record view, etc.)
• – possibility to use different formats of displayed search (list, tile, table)
• – most of the records are supplemented with citations in a subject-relevant format (to be further developed)
• – autocomplete for searching in individual database items
• – alphabetical order in the indexes and facets corresponds to the Czech alphabet
• – the ability to search with or without accents (default setting includes accents)
