The Czech Literary Studies Consortium was established in 2015 during the 5th Congress of World Czech Literary Studies. Its goal is to connect foreign institutions involved in Czech studies within an umbrella network, and to establish an organized platform for mutual cooperation.
Members of the consortium collaborate to improve the quality of information resources for Czech literary studies and to popularize research results. They also participate in the expansion of CLB databases and exchange of information by sharing their contributions in the Literárněvédná bohemistika newsletter.
Operations of the Consortium is coordinated by the Institute of Czech Literature of the CAS (ICL) in cooperation with the Consortium’s ‘Scientific Board’, which is made up of representatives of member institutions and which meets once every five years on the occasion of the Congress of World Czech Literary Studies. Any scholarly, pedagogical, or memory institution that works in the field of Czech literary studies can join the Consortium.
In order to strengthen mutual relations, the ICL offers researchers and students from Consortium member institutions the opportunity to complete study stays at its centres in Prague or Brno.
